Licence problems
Every state the access chip and the License / Subscription window can show, what each one means, and the fix — plus the 3-day offline grace.
The access chip in the ribbon always shows this device's status at a glance — ● Active — until <date>, ● Access expired or ● Access revoked with a Contact Us button, or ● Access status unavailable — and on a device with no access at all it gives way to a gold Get Free Access button. Help ▸ License / Subscription… opens the window with the same state as a headline, a line explaining it, and the buttons that act on it.
There is no licence file to find, copy or keep safe. Access belongs to your account, covers up to three devices, and is checked online. This computer is identified by its Device ID — the Windows registry value also shown under Settings ▸ System ▸ About ▸ Device ID — which sits behind Having trouble? at the bottom of the window with a Copy button.
